Now for something a little different. I’ve had a string of new arrivals came in recently like the Azusa Nakano figma, ALTER’s new Clalaclan, Orchid Seed’s Al-Azif, etc.. All good stuff, but all pretty well covered across other blogs and sites. Today I thought I’d take a look at another arrival this week, the very long awaited Dawn: Back in Black PVC released by Diamond Select Toys.

Today a look at Gift’s July 2010 release of Minamoto Chizuru from Kanokon. I’ve always loved her character design, and am a huge sucker for large scale figures so this was a pretty much instant pre-order. Gift isn’t kidding about 1/4 scale at all, clocking in at 40 cm she certainly lives up to the claim.
This week Kousoku Mko by Native (link) finally came into my possession. This was a figure I’ve been hunting for since I first learned about it (sadly long after it’d already sold out). Stubborn perseverance and compulsive refreshing of Mandarake finally paid off. Every time I looked for details on this figure people only had great things to say about her once they’d seen it. I’m very happy to report that I can wholeheartedly agree.
Please read on for my review of Kousoku Mko as well as some photos from my unboxing and set-up of her. NSFW photos below the cut.
There are some figures out there that are not received well by the community. They may not like the sculpt, paint job, overly fragile materials, or just over-saturation of the character (NGE, Ikki Tousen figs anyone?). Valid concerns, but sometimes there are figures that just baffle me as to why no one seems to like them.
